Barclaycard
Get paid. Anywhere.
SUMMARY
A simple product launched with a single-minded creative approach.

A DEVICE FOR NOW
Customers are increasingly using cards rather than cash and stats show that one in six people will shop elsewhere if they can’t use their card. Barclaycard Anywhere allows small businesses, tradespeople and entrepreneurs to take card payments on the move.
FREE YOURSELF
Barclaycard Anywhere works by connecting a portable chip-and-pin device to a smartphone or iPad. Payments can now be taken wherever there is mobile data coverage or Wi-Fi. The creative approach put their new device front and centre; highlighting the flexible, liberating nature of the product.

DON'T SAY IT, SHOW IT
The idea required a complicated mix of 3D and HTML animation. To help communicate the process to the team, I created a schematic that showed which elements were animating and how. It helped developers, 3D suppliers, photographers and project managers understand the flow of the experience.
A SIMPLE PRODUCT, SIMPLIFIED
It’s easy to over-complicate. I wanted to really hammer home the simplicity of the product by breaking down the process of signing up and using the device into three easy steps. This was communicated with three super-simple icon animations.

RESPONSIVE IMAGERY
Rather than clumsily scaling single images, I proposed a different approach to the imagery, whereby they were shot, layered and optimised to be responsive. This required a bespoke shoot and a detailed brief to the photographer. Elements were shot collectively and individually so they could be compiled with consistent lighting and grading.
Items scale and move individually, giving us the control to create beautiful compositions across differing devices and formats. Made whilst at Dare.

Created with responsive imagery.
